Day 1: 28 December 2026 / Journey to Cavenago di Brianza
Your journey begins at 6:00 a.m. from Luxembourg at P+R Bouillon towards Cavenago di Brianza, including breakfast and lunch. In the evening, you arrive at your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: 29 December 2026 / Portogruaro – Continue to Trieste
After breakfast, you travel towards the Adriatic coast. In Portogruaro, a guided walk introduces you to this charming town along the Lemene River. You pass the historic mills, the cathedral and the lively Corso. Afterwards, you continue to Trieste, arriving in the early evening. After check-in at the hotel, you have free time to discover the first impressions of this elegant port city.

Day 3: 30 December 2026 / Cividale del Friuli – Collio – Monte Grisa
A scenic drive takes you to Cividale del Friuli. This charming small town captivates visitors with its narrow streets, the famous “Ponte del Diavolo” and the extraordinary Tempietto Longobardo from the 8th century, renowned for its unique stucco decorations. The Collio region has long been a cultural borderland between Italy and Slovenia, a mixture also reflected in its cuisine. Enjoy a traditional lunch in a local restaurant. On the return journey, you visit the pilgrimage church of Monte Grisa, offering spectacular views over the Gulf of Trieste. Day 4: 31 December 2026 / Trieste – Palazzo Revoltella – New Year’s Eve Gala
The final day of the year begins with culture. At Palazzo Revoltella, you discover an impressive 19th-century art collection reflecting the wealth of Trieste’s former merchants. The guided walk continues across the grand Piazza Unità d’Italia, through the elegant pedestrian streets and to Piazza Ponterosso in the Theresian district shaped by Empress Maria Theresa. The Grand Canal recalls the era when trading ships reached deep into the city centre. The afternoon is at leisure. In the evening, a festive New Year’s Eve gala dinner awaits at the renowned Grand Hotel Duchi d’Aosta, located just a few minutes’ walk from your hotel. After midnight, a spectacular fireworks display lights up the sky above Trieste.
Day 5: 1 January 2027 / Miramare Castle – Piran in Istria – Muggia
The New Year begins with a panoramic coastal drive via Barcola to the beautifully situated Miramare Castle. Once the residence of Archduke Maximilian of Habsburg, the castle offers fascinating insights into Austrian imperial history. You then continue across the Slovenian border to Portorož and the Venetian-style town of Piran. During a walk through the pedestrian old town with its pale stone facades and charming squares, you can still feel the influence of the Republic of Venice. On the return journey, a short stop in Muggia offers lovely views over the Bay of Trieste. Evening at leisure.
Day 6: 2 January 2027 / Aquileia – Palmanova – Villa Manin – Pordenone
History accompanies you once again today. In Aquileia, once an important Roman metropolis, you discover remains from various historical eras. Afterwards, you visit the star-shaped fortress town of Palmanova, a masterpiece of Venetian urban planning. Near Passariano, you admire the monumental Villa Manin from the outside. The journey continues to Pordenone, known for its frescoed palaces along the Corso, before arriving in Cavenago di Brianza for the overnight stay.
Air travellers: transfer to Venice airport and return flight to Luxembourg.
Day 7: 3 January 2027 / Return Journey
