During Advent season, Dresden reveals itself at its most beautiful: atmospheric Christmas markets illuminate the cityscape. Another highlight is Moritzburg Castle, whose festive decorations create a truly enchanting setting.

ITINERARY

Day 1: 06 December 2026 / Journey to Dresden

In the early morning at 6:00 a.m., your journey begins in Luxembourg from P+R Bouillon towards Dresden. Breakfast and lunch are included during the journey. After arrival and check-in at the hotel, the remainder of the evening is at your leisure. Perhaps enjoy a first stroll through the festively illuminated old town or simply relax after the journey.

Day 2: 07 December 2026 / Dresden

The morning is dedicated entirely to the Saxon capital. During a guided city tour, you will discover Dresden’s most important landmarks, including the world-famous Semper Opera House, the magnificent Frauenkirche and the historic Royal Palace. Afterwards, there is plenty of time for your own discoveries. Visit the traditional Striezelmarkt, Germany’s oldest Christmas market, or enjoy the winter atmosphere during a walk along the banks of the Elbe River.

Day 3: 08 December 2026 / Meissen – Porcelain Manufactory – Moritzburg Castle

After breakfast, you travel to Meissen, where a guided visit offers fascinating insights into the renowned porcelain manufactory. Afterwards, the Meissen Christmas market invites you to enjoy regional specialties in a festive setting. In the afternoon, you continue to the idyllic Moritzburg Castle, which is particularly magical during Advent with its fairytale charm.

Day 4: 09 December 2026 / Leisure Time

Today is entirely at your leisure. Explore Dresden individually or join the optional excursion to Saxon Switzerland. The excursion first takes you to the historic old town of Pirna before continuing along the Elbe River to the impressive Königstein Fortress, where an atmospheric Christmas market takes place during Advent weekends. Another highlight is the famous Bastei with its breathtaking panoramic views over the winter landscapes of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.

Optional excursion: Saxon Switzerland

Day 5: 10 December 2026 / Weimar – Return Journey

Before returning to Luxembourg, you stop in Weimar. During a leisurely stroll through the festively decorated town, you can enjoy the unique atmosphere of its historic Christmas market. After the lunch break, the journey back to Luxembourg continues.
