The day begins with a guided tour of Perpignan, where you discover landmarks such as the Castillet, the Palace of the Kings of Majorca and the Place de la Loge. The Rigaud Museum and other historic buildings also reflect the city’s unique blend of southern French charm and Catalan identity. The afternoon is free at leisure. Enjoy the Mediterranean lifestyle with a coffee on a lively square or stroll through the charming streets of the old town.

Day 3: 23 May 2027 / Carcassonne – Salses-le-Château
Today’s excursion takes you to the famous fortified city of Carcassonne. With its impressive medieval walls, the Château Comtal and the Basilica of Saint-Nazaire, it is considered one of Europe’s most remarkable fortress complexes. Enjoy free time for your own discoveries or lunch in a historic setting. A visit to the “Musée de l’École” or the “Musée de l’Inquisition” is also recommended. On the return journey, you stop at the mighty fortress of Salses-le-Château, an impressive example of military architecture between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Day 4: 24 May 2027 / The “Train Jaune” through the Pyrenees – Le Barcarès
A special highlight awaits you aboard the legendary “Train Jaune.” This panoramic railway journey crosses spectacular bridges and winds through the breathtaking mountain scenery of the Pyrenees. Stops such as Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via, Mont-Louis with its Vauban fortifications, and Villefranche-de-Conflent make this route truly unforgettable. Afterwards, you continue to the Mediterranean coast to Le Barcarès and the Place de la Méditerranée, creating a beautiful contrast between mountains and sea.

Today’s excursion crosses the Spanish border to the Costa Brava. In Figueres, the birthplace of Salvador Dalí, you visit the famous Dalí Theatre-Museum before enjoying some free time in the old town. In the afternoon, you continue to the picturesque fishing village of Cadaqués, beautifully set around a bay opening onto the sea.

Day 6: 26 May 2027 / Ille-sur-Têt
In the morning, you take a half-day excursion to Ille-sur-Têt at the foot of the Pyrenees.
