A taste of Christmas with a detour to Heidelberg and Wurzburg

ITINERARY
Day 1: 03 December 2026 / Journey to Heidelberg
Departure takes place at 7:00 a.m. from Luxembourg at P+R Bouillon towards Heidelberg, including breakfast. Upon arrival, you will immerse yourself in the festive Christmas market of the old town: atmospheric themed squares, a historic carousel, views up to the illuminated castle and the “Advent Express”, travelling through the winter city in nostalgic trams, create a truly special ambiance.
Day 2: 04 December 2026 / Guided Tour of Rothenburg ob der Tauber
In the morning, you will discover Rothenburg during a guided walking tour – one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Germany. Half-timbered houses, the town hall, castle gardens, the famous Plönlein and St. James’s Church shape the picturesque townscape. Afterwards, there is ample time to enjoy the colourful Christmas market at your leisure.
Day 3: 05 December 2026 / Würzburg – Return Journey
After breakfast, the journey continues to Würzburg, the baroque jewel of Franconia. During a stroll through the old town, you will discover magnificent buildings overlooked by the imposing Marienberg Fortress. Other highlights include the Old Main Bridge and the famous Würzburg Residence. In the afternoon, you begin the return journey to Luxembourg.
