TRAVEL ITINERARY

Day 1: 16 May 2027 / Arrival

After arriving at Vágar Airport, your journey towards the capital begins. Travelling through one of the Faroes’ impressive subsea tunnels, you cross from the island of Vágar to Streymoy and experience your first architectural masterpiece beneath the ocean.

Day 2: 17 May 2027 / Streymoy – Saksun – Eysturoy – Risin & Kellingin – Gjógv

Streymoy is the largest island of the Faroe Islands. In the north, dramatic landscapes of almost mystical beauty await you. Nestled between towering mountains lies the charming village of Saksun, famous for its picturesque church and tranquil lagoon. Crossing the Streymin Bridge, you continue to the island of Eysturoy. Along the panoramic road, you enjoy spectacular views of Slættaratindur, the Faroes’ highest mountain at 880 metres. The final stop of the day is Gjógv, named after its natural sea-filled gorge. Here, you experience one of the country’s most spectacular locations. The return to Tórshavn takes place through another subsea tunnel, reaching a depth of 187 metres below sea level — a truly unique experience.

Day 3: 18 May 2027 / Vágar Island – Bøur – Múlafossur Waterfall – Boat Experience

Today, you discover the popular island of Vágar. Along the way, you pass through the villages of Sandavágur, Miðvágur and Sørvágur before arriving in Bøur, home to one of the Faroe Islands’ most iconic views overlooking Tindhólmur island. In Gásadalur, you admire the famous Múlafossur waterfall as it dramatically cascades into the Atlantic Ocean. From Sørvágur, you embark on a private boat excursion through the fjords, getting close to the impressive Drangarnir sea stacks. Towering cliffs, fresh Atlantic air and the close connection to nature make this an unforgettable experience.

Day 4: 19 May 2027 / Klaksvík – Viðareiði – Faroese Wool Tradition

Today’s excursion takes you across modern bridges and subsea tunnels to Klaksvík on the island of Borðoy, the main town of the northern islands. Here, you visit the striking Christianskirkjan church, considered one of the country’s architectural highlights. Further north lies Viðareiði, the northernmost village of the Faroe Islands. Surrounded by dramatic landscapes, you enjoy magnificent views across the neighbouring islands. Later, you visit a traditional Faroese farm to learn more about the importance of sheep farming. For centuries, wool has been regarded here as the “gold of the Faroes.” To end the day, you visit the Navia flagship store, showcasing high-quality locally produced wool garments and fashion items.

Day 5: 20 May 2027 / Old Town of Tórshavn – Kirkjubøur – Sandoy Island

The old town of Tórshavn, with its black-tarred wooden houses, white-framed windows and grass-covered roofs, offers a unique atmosphere blending history and modern life. Walking through its narrow alleys allows you to fully experience this special charm. Just a few minutes south lies Kirkjubøur, the historical and religious centre of the Faroes. Here, you visit St. Olav’s Church from the 12th century, considered the oldest still-active church on the islands. Through the Faroes’ newest subsea tunnel, you continue to Sandoy Island. Small villages, farming traditions and local culture define everyday life here. You explore several villages and enjoy a traditional local lunch.
