ITINERARY
Day 1: 31 October 2026 / Arrival in Luxor Welcome to the land of the pharaohs. Upon arrival in Luxor, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your ship. Enjoy your first dinner on board and soak in the atmosphere of the Nile.
Day 2: 1 November 2026 / Luxor – Edfu A small private boat takes you to the Theban Necropolis with the famous Valley of the Kings, the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the impressive Colossi of Memnon. Afterwards, admire the magnificent Karnak Temple, a monumental masterpiece of ancient Egyptian architecture. After lunch on board, your ship sails towards Edfu.
Optional: An unforgettable start to the day with a sunrise hot-air balloon flight over the Valley of the Kings.
Day 3: 2 November 2026 / Edfu – Kom Ombo Travel by horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the god Horus. Its reliefs vividly recount myths and power struggles of ancient times. Continue to Kom Ombo to visit the unique double temple dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god, and Haroeris, a form of Horus—where legend and history merge.
Day 4: 3 November 2026 / Aswan – Temple of Isis – High Dam – Felucca Ride In the morning, travel to Philae Island to visit the enchanting Temple of Isis, spectacularly saved stone by stone from the Nile’s floods. Then discover the impressive High Dam, a symbol of modern Egypt. The afternoon is free—perfect for strolling through colorful souks or relaxing on board. Later, enjoy a peaceful felucca ride around Elephantine Island.
Day 5: 4 November 2026 / Aswan – Abu Simbel – Cairo A day full of highlights awaits. The excursion to Abu Simbel reveals the world-famous temples of Ramses II, majestically overlooking Lake Nasser. Their colossal statues and detailed reliefs are among antiquity’s greatest masterpieces. After lunch on board, transfer to Aswan Airport and fly to Cairo, where you check into your hotel.
Day 6: 5 November 2026 / Cairo – Pyramids – Grand Egyptian Museum With a local guide, explore the Giza Plateau and the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos—monuments that have watched over the Nile Valley for thousands of years. Of course, you will also marvel at the mysterious Sphinx. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the new Grand Egyptian Museum, where cutting-edge architecture showcases Egypt’s history in a spectacular setting.
Day 7: 6 November 2026 / Cairo – Alexandria After breakfast, travel to Alexandria, the legendary Mediterranean port city. Visit the Greco-Roman Museum, the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, and the modern Library of Alexandria. After lunch with sea views, stop for photos at the Citadel of Qaitbay, built on the foundations of the ancient lighthouse. A walk along the coastal road completes the day before returning to Cairo.
Day 8: 7 November 2026 / Return Home Transfer to the airport and return flight to Luxembourg.
