A summer fairytale in northern Italy: At the Verona Arena, you will experience Giuseppe Verdi’s “Aida” in a breathtaking production – an open-air opera evening that will remain unforgettable. Beyond the stage, a true cultural journey unfolds: romantic Mantua with its picturesque lake landscape, and elegant Vicenza, home to the masterpieces of Palladio.
ITINERARY
Day 1: 24 June 2026 / Arrival
In the morning, your direct flight takes you from Luxembourg to Venice. Upon arrival, you are transferred to your hotel. After checking into your rooms, you have time to explore the surroundings at your own pace or relax after the journey.
Day 2: 25 June 2026 / Verona – Opera performance “Aida di Cristallo”
Today you discover Verona, the most important art city in Veneto after Venice. During a guided tour, you explore the lively Piazza Brà with its impressive Roman amphitheatre, the elegant shopping street Via Mazzini, and the charming historic centre. In the evening, an unforgettable highlight awaits: an opera performance in the famous Verona Arena — Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida, presented here in the spectacular “Aida di Cristallo” production by Stefano Poda, featuring innovative lighting design and elaborate, partially transparent costumes.
Day 3: 26 June 2026 / Mantua
The morning is at leisure in Verona. In the afternoon, you travel to Mantua, once the residence city of the Gonzaga family, idyllically set amid a beautiful lake landscape. Poets and writers have long praised the romantic atmosphere of this town, which from afar appears almost like an island. During a walking tour, you discover the rich history of this city of more than a thousand years: Castello San Giorgio and the Palazzo Ducale, Piazza Sordello with the House of Rigoletto, the cathedral, as well as numerous squares, churches and palaces. Highlights also include Piazza Broletto with the old town hall, Piazza Erbe with the courthouse and clock tower, the Rotonda di San Lorenzo and the Basilica of Sant’Andrea.
Day 4: 27 June 2026 / Vicenza
You visit Vicenza, shaped by the masterpieces of the renowned Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio. His elegant buildings give the city its distinctive atmosphere. One of the highlights is the Teatro Olimpico, Palladio’s final work. During a guided tour, you explore this city, still largely untouched by mass tourism, and discover its fascinating blend of art, history and Italian lifestyle.
Day 5: 28 June 2026 / Return journey
After breakfast, you have free time at your disposal. Afterwards, transfer to Venice Airport. In the evening, return flight to Luxembourg.
