Mysterious myths and breathtaking natural beauty


Georgia captivates with a blend of authenticity and overwhelming beauty: underground worlds in the Prometheus Cave, rock-cut settlements from another era and the vibrant atmosphere of Tbilisi. In between lie quiet mountain valleys, rugged gorges, roaring waterfalls and charming old towns where history seems to come alive.

ITINERARY

Day 1: 06 June 2026 / Arrival in Tbilisi

Travel by coach to Brussels, followed by a flight to Tbilisi (with stopover). Upon arrival, you are welcomed by your tour guide and transferred to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to gather first impressions of the Georgian capital or to relax after the journey.

Day 2: 07 June 2026 / Jvari Monastery – Mtskheta – Gori – Uplistsikhe – Akhaltsikhe

Today you explore Georgia’s religious and historical roots. You begin with a visit to Jvari Monastery, located high above the former capital of the Iberian Kingdom, Mtskheta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site offering magnificent views. You then continue to Gori to visit the Joseph Stalin Museum. In Uplistsikhe, enjoy a walk through the impressive cave city, one of the oldest settlements in the country. In the evening, arrival in Akhaltsikhe.

Day 3: 08 June 2026 / Rabati Fortress – Vardzia

In the morning, you explore Rabati Fortress, whose massive walls and towers still shape the cityscape today. You then continue to the rock-hewn city of Vardzia. Carved into steep rock faces, the cave complex stretches for almost 500 metres and represents a fascinating example of medieval architecture. Return to Akhaltsikhe in the evening.

Day 4: 09 June 2026 / Borjomi – Mineral water – Kutaisi

After breakfast, travel to the well-known spa town of Borjomi. During a walk through the park, you sample the famous mineral water directly from the spring. You then continue to Kutaisi, one of the oldest cities in the country.

Day 5: 10 June 2026 / Okatse Canyon – Prometheus Cave

This day is dedicated to the natural wonders of western Georgia. You take a hike through Okatse Canyon with its hanging bridges and spectacular views. In the afternoon, you visit the Prometheus Cave, whose stalactites, underground rivers and lakes create an almost fairy-tale atmosphere.

Day 6: 11 June 2026 / Georgian Military Highway – Ananuri Fortress – Gudauri

Today you travel along the Georgian Military Highway into the mountain world of the Caucasus. En route, you visit Ananuri Fortress, picturesquely situated on the Zhinvali Reservoir. You then continue to Gudauri, a popular ski and leisure resort.

Day 7: 12 June 2026 / Gergeti – Dariali Gorge – Gveleti Waterfall – Dariali Monastery Complex

In the morning, enjoy the panoramic view at the Gudauri viewpoint. By off-road vehicles, you ascend to the Gergeti Trinity Church, perched at over 2,000 metres above sea level, with the mighty Mount Kazbek in the background. You then drive through the Dariali Gorge, take a walk to the Gveleti Waterfall and visit the Dariali Monastery Complex.

Day 8: 13 June 2026 / Mtskheta – Svetitskhoveli Cathedral – Tbilisi – Wine tasting

On the return journey to Tbilisi, you stop once again in Mtskheta. Here you visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, you arrive in Tbilisi, where a wine tasting at a traditional winery awaits you.

Day 9: 14 June 2026 / Tbilisi

You explore the Georgian capital in depth. During a city tour, you see Metekhi Church, Narikala Fortress, the historic sulphur baths, as well as lively Meidani Square and Jan Shardeni Street with its cafés and galleries.

Day 10: 15 June 2026 / Return journey

With many unforgettable impressions, you transfer to the airport and fly back to Luxembourg.
