When December arrives, Bamberg transforms into a true Advent fairytale. The medieval old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, glows in the warm light of countless string lights, while the scent of mulled wine and roasted almonds fills the streets. In this festive setting, a very special magic unfolds: over 400 lovingly crafted nativity scenes can be discovered in churches, museums, shop windows, and even private homes – a tradition that has been maintained in Bamberg for centuries.

Let yourself be enchanted by Bamberg’s unique atmosphere and experience the Christmas season in one of Germany’s most beautiful cities. Of course, there are opportunities to attend Midnight Mass and various Catholic and Protestant Christmas services to experience the festive spirit in a spiritual way.

A journey for everyone who wants to celebrate Christmas in joyful company, sharing stories, laughter, and festive cheer. This reflective season becomes an opportunity to discover Christmas-time Bamberg together and exchange memories, wishes, and thoughts about the past and the future in a relaxed atmosphere.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bus ride to Bamberg, walk through the Christmas market

• Bus trip: Esch-sur-Alzette – Luxembourg – Echternach – Bamberg (additional boarding points to follow)
• Optional visit to the Christmas market

Day 2: World Heritage Bamberg, Christmas Eve

• Guided walk through the historic old town: “Experience Bamberg – Fascination World Heritage”
• Free time
• Cozy get-together (coffee & Christmas cookies)
• Christmas Eve: Festive Christmas dinner

Day 3: Christmas in Bamberg

• The day's program will be determined spontaneously (depending on weather)
• Walk through Bamberg: Discover the charming city on a relaxed stroll and enjoy the festive atmosphere
• Attend Christmas services: Individual opportunity to attend Midnight Mass or other Catholic and Protestant Christmas services
• Visit to the Historical Museum: Learn more about the city's history and culture
• Walk along the Regnitz riverbanks or through parks, green spaces, and surrounding woods and meadows
• Nordic walking or hiking on well-maintained trails in the area
• One-on-one conversations with the tour leader

Day 4: Christmas magic and nativity tour

• City walk in Bamberg: “Christmas Magic – Nativity Tour”
• Afternoon at leisure – your tour leader has great suggestions for joint or individual activities

Day 5: Return trip to Luxembourg

• Bus trip Bamberg – Echternach – Luxembourg – Esch-sur-Alzette (additional drop-off points to follow)
