ITINERARY
Day 1: 23 May 2027 / Arrival
In the morning, you fly from Luxembourg to Ljubljana. Upon arrival, a transfer takes you to the Adriatic coast. After check-in at the hotel, there is time to settle in and enjoy your first impressions before the upcoming hiking days begin.
Day 2: 24 May 2027 / Lungomare Coastal Promenade (9 km | 2.5 hours)
A short drive first brings you to Volosko, a picturesque fishing village on the northern edge of Opatija. From here, you follow the famous Franz Joseph promenade, better known as the Lungomare. The path continuously follows the coastline, connecting Volosko with Opatija, Ičići, Ika and finally Lovran. Throughout the walk, beautiful views of bays, Austro-Hungarian villas and the sparkling waters of Kvarner Bay accompany you.
Day 3: 25 May 2027 / Rajska Cesta (6 km | 1 hour 40 minutes)
By coach, you travel to the island of Krk and the town of Malinska. Here begins your hike along the “Rajska Cesta”, also known as the Paradise Road. The name perfectly describes what awaits you: a pleasant coastal trail filled with the scent of pine trees and wide views over the crystal-clear sea. The route is gentle and allows plenty of time to appreciate the Mediterranean vegetation and peaceful surroundings. The hike ends in Njivice.
Day 4: 26 May 2027 / Leisure Day
Today is entirely at your own disposal. Enjoy the free time to relax and unwind.
Day 5: 27 May 2027 / Summit of the Učka Mountains (8.3 km | 4 hours | elevation gain: 509 m)
This morning’s excursion takes you to Poklon Pass at 922 metres above sea level. From here, the ascent to Vojak, the highest peak of the Učka mountain range, begins. Step by step, you gain altitude until reaching the characteristic stone tower at the summit. From the top, panoramic views stretch across Istria, Kvarner Bay, the surrounding islands, the Velebit Mountains and, on clear days, even the Alps. After a well-deserved break, you descend back to Poklon Pass, where your transfer back to the hotel awaits.
Day 6: 28 May 2027 / Moon Plateau near Baška (8 km | 3–4 hours)
Today you return to the island of Krk, this time heading to Baška. The trail initially leads through light pine forests before gradually climbing higher. Soon, the scenery changes dramatically: barren karst terrain and pale rock formations shape the so-called “Moon Plateau”, whose appearance resembles an almost unreal lunar landscape. Wide-open sea views and the rugged beauty of the surroundings give this hike a truly unique character.
Day 7: 29 May 2027 / Carmen Sylva Forest Promenade (5.4 km | 1.5 hours)
Your final hike begins just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. Named after Elisabeth of Romania, better known by her literary name Carmen Sylva, this promenade winds through shady forests and alongside the Vrutki stream. Along the way, small clearings and viewpoints reveal beautiful views of the coastline. The easy route combines nature with the historic elegance of Opatija as a former imperial spa resort. Afterwards, you return to the hotel on foot.
Day 8: 30 May 2027 / Return Journey
In the morning, you still have some free time before the transfer to Ljubljana Airport and your return flight to Luxembourg.
