On this indulgent journey, you will follow the famous “Route des Grands Crus,” sail leisurely on the Saône River, and explore the history of winemaking at Château du Clos de Vougeot.
ITINERARY
Day 1: 14 September 2026 / Arrival – Chambolle-Musigny Early morning departure from Luxembourg (P+R Bouillon) to Chambolle-Musigny, including breakfast. This picturesque wine village lies in the heart of Côte d’Or, surrounded by charming neighboring villages like Vougeot and Gevrey-Chambertin. Upon arrival, enjoy free time to soak in the traditional village atmosphere.
Day 2: 15 September 2026 / Route des Grands Crus – Wine Tasting – Free Time in Beaune Today you follow the legendary “Route des Grands Crus,” passing through the vineyards of Clos de Vougeot, Vosne-Romanée, Aloxe-Corton, Savigny-lès-Beaune, then on to Pommard, Volnay, and Meursault. At this time of year, the vineyards are at their most beautiful, and the air is scented with freshly pressed grapes. Visit a winery with included tasting. Lunch at Le Montrachet restaurant. In the afternoon, free time in Beaune to explore at your leisure: visit Hôtel-Dieu, enjoy a glass of wine on a terrace, or stroll through charming streets. Tip: Departing early allows you to taste and purchase top-quality wines in Aloxe-Corton at surprisingly fair prices.
Day 3: 16 September 2026 / Saône Cruise – Seurre – Étang Rouge Open-Air Museum Short bus ride to Seurre. Enjoy a relaxed catamaran cruise along the scenic Saône, surrounded by pristine flora and fauna. While one part of the group visits Musée Bossuet, the other boards the catamaran, then groups switch. Joint lunch in Glanon, perched on the harbor hillside. Afternoon at leisure in Seurre, then visit the Étang Rouge open-air museum, featuring reconstructed workshops and buildings that give fascinating insights into rural life of the past.
Day 4: 17 September 2026 / Château du Clos de Vougeot – Return In the morning, visit the famous Château du Clos de Vougeot, a symbol of Burgundian winemaking founded by Cistercian monks in the 12th century. The historic estate is impressive: the large cuverie with massive wine presses, the extensive cellar, and the former dormitory where a film on the château’s history is shown. Final lunch before returning to Luxembourg.
