ITINERARY
Day 1: 3 May 2027 / Journey to South Tyrol
Early in the morning, you will travel by comfortable coach towards South Tyrol, including breakfast and lunch. After checking into the hotel, the rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day 2: 4 May 2027 / Along the Via Claudia Augusta to Bolzano (65 km / 100 m elevation gain)
Today, you will get on your bikes for the first time. Following the historic Via Claudia Augusta, the route heads north at a leisurely pace, accompanied by the River Adige. Orchards, vineyards and alpine landscapes characterise this relaxing stage to Bolzano, the lively capital of South Tyrol. Once there, you will have time to stroll through the famous arcades, visit the cathedral or enjoy a relaxing break on Piazza Walther. Afterwards, you will cycle back at a leisurely pace.
Day 3: 5 May 2027 / Three-Lakes Tour in southern South Tyrol (60 km / 520 m elevation gain)
From your hotel, you will cycle through extensive apple orchards and follow the Maria Theresa Cycle Path. You will soon reach Lake Kaltern before continuing to the idyllic Montiggler Lakes. Via the traditional wine village of Tramin – home of the famous Gewürztraminer grape – the route eventually leads back to the hotel. A perfect day surrounded by water, vineyards and a touch of southern flair.
Day 4: 6 May 2027 / Leisure day
Today, you set the pace. This free day offers the perfect opportunity to relax and recharge your batteries. Enjoy a leisurely walk, visit a cosy café or spend a few hours relaxing in the hotel's wellness area.
Day 5: 7 May 2027 / Along the Via Claudia Augusta to Trento (70 km / 100 m elevation gain)
Today's stage takes you southwards along the Via Claudia Augusta. Cycling through vineyards planted with Teroldego grapes, you pass small villages before reaching Salorno, where you can sense the language border between South Tyrol and Trentino. After a few more kilometres, you arrive in Trento. Here, Italian elegance meets Central European history. Renaissance palaces, Piazza Duomo with its Neptune Fountain and the impressive Castello del Buonconsiglio invite you to explore the city.
Day 6: 8 May 2027 / From Bolzano to Merano (56 km / 140 m elevation gain)
After a short transfer, you start your particularly scenic cycling tour from Bolzano to Merano. The cycle path follows the River Adige, passing castles, vineyards and apple orchards. Particularly impressive is Sigmundskron Castle, which towers high above the landscape. Once in Merano, there is time to enjoy the elegant atmosphere of this spa town before returning.
Day 7: 9 May 2027 / Excursion to Lake Garda (50 km / 200 m elevation gain)
First, you travel by coach to Rovereto. From there, a spectacular cycling tour begins through the nature reserve of the former Lake Loppio to Nago. The first view of Lake Garda rewards you for the gentle climb. You then descend to Torbole and follow the cycle path along the Sarca River to Arco, where you can take a short stroll through the beautiful old town. The route continues through the fascinating lunar landscape of the “Marocche” to Lake Cavedine. To round off the day, a special highlight awaits: a wine tasting with a small snack at a winery before returning to the hotel by coach.
Day 8: 10 May 2027 / Journey home
In the morning, it is time to say goodbye to South Tyrol. You will return to Luxembourg, including lunch.
