ITINERARY
Day 1: 22 April 2026 / Journey – Zuiderzee Museum Departure early in the morning from Luxembourg (P+R Bouillon) to Enkhuizen, including breakfast and lunch. Upon arrival, visit the impressive Zuiderzee Museum, which vividly brings to life the history of the people around the former Zuiderzee. In the open-air village with over 140 historic buildings, you can see, hear, feel and even taste everyday life of past centuries. The exhibitions in the Treasure House present fascinating collections from a modern perspective.
Day 2: 23 April 2026 / History and harbour flair in Hoorn – Canal cruise – Free time During a guided tour, discover the historic harbour town of Hoorn, which gained wealth and influence as an important trading centre of the Dutch East India Company during the Golden Age. The charming city centre offers around 460 shops, restaurants, museums, galleries and numerous monuments. Enjoy a relaxing canal cruise, followed by free time to explore Hoorn at your own pace.
Day 3: 24 April 2026 / Alkmaar Cheese Market – Lisse – Keukenhof Flower Park A colourful and enjoyable day awaits you. In the morning, experience the traditional cheese market in Alkmaar, where cheese has been weighed and traded since the 14th century. Afterwards, continue to Lisse for lunch. In the afternoon, stroll through a sea of flowers at the world-famous Keukenhof – an unforgettable experience when tulips, daffodils and hyacinths bloom in every colour.
Day 4: 25 April 2026 / Texel Island By ferry, cross from Den Helder to the largest of the Dutch Wadden Islands. Texel enchants with long sandy beaches, diverse landscapes and idyllic villages. During a guided island tour, you will discover its highlights. A walk through the lively main town of Den Burg, with its charming shops and cosy cafés, completes the day.
Day 5: 26 April 2026 / Volendam – Return journey To conclude the trip, visit the traditional fishing village of Volendam on the Markermeer, known for its harbour atmosphere and typical wooden houses. In the afternoon, return to Luxembourg.
